Our Mission
|
|
Talk Action believes in social justice and environmental sustainability.
In order to accomplish the above statement, our aim is to raise environmental
and social awareness through events and education. We do this by
various means including delivering environmental training, managing
green events and through contacts on our web based directory.

Training Courses

We provide training courses on social and environmental issues across the UK.
Our courses are run by specialised facilitators and are tailored
to suit people from different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Our Team

Jonathan Elliot Event Manager
Jonathan Elliott, founder of Talk Action, has
been organising national events and training for the past 14 years.
Jonathan has worked on numerous community projects ranging from
developing climate change outreach programs for Defra to organising
entire green workshop areas and solar cinemas. Jonathan has also
spent time at War on Want campaign office and worked securing
funding for an AIDS/HIV charity in Northern Thailand. |

Owen Espley Committee Chair
Owen Espley has been involved with Talk Action
since the beginning of 2007. He is an experienced campaigner,
with many years experience of work around sustainable business
having been a professional campaigner for organisations in Amsterdam,
Brussels, and London on, national, EU and international issues.
He has particular expertise in bringing together diverse alliances
and coalitions and achieving change through working together.
He currently works as a campaigner at Friends of the Earth, at
their London office, in their corporate's and trade team. |

Rebecca Passmore Secretary
Rebecca studied physical geography at Queen Marys.
After graduating in 2001, she worked abroad in Central and South
America co-ordinating and arranging community orientated jungle
expeditions. She has worked with Talk Action for a year and developed
systems and funding projects. She has experience in working with
businesses to reduce their environmental impact. She is now studying
for a MSc in Environmental Management at University of Stirling. |

Elena Pike Treasurer
Elena teaches photography and art in High Barnet,
North London. As well as incorporating recycling into her art
projects Elena is also a session worker for Hackney based, environmental
project - Eco active. In the summer Elena and her Freemazes crew
can been seen at festival across the country with their 'Loser's
maze' made form 100% recycled materials. |

'Mitch' Matthews Dublin Committee
Member
Mitch is currently working for the London Borough
of Westminster as a senior manager in their environmental services
department. He is a trained climate change speaker and an occasional
speaker at the Royal institute. |

Corinna Luther (Project Intern)
Corinna joined Talk Action shortly after completing her masters in Environmental Assessment and Management at the University of East Anglia. She has worked and studied all over the world, spending the majority of her childhood in Indonesia and China. She became interested in environmental issues after witnessing the way in which economic growth can influence the environmental stability of a region. She has worked on a variety of projects focusing on areas such as renewable energy and sustainable transport. |

Eva Crespo (Intern)
Eva is a freelance Filmmaker with experience in pre and post production. The companies she has worked for include broadcasters such as Channel 4 in the UK and Canal 4 in Spain. She is originally from Barcelona where her career began as a Community Development Worker and as a Social Educator, working with disadvantaged groups.
After several years in the social and community field she decided to experiment more in other sectors, namely Digital Media and Production. In 2004, She completed a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Barcelona. Throughout this period, she has continued to maintain an interest in social and environmental issues.
She is currently studying a MSc in Climate Change Impact and Sustainability. |
